MILDURA have booked themselves a Bowls Sunraysia grand final berth for the 15th straight year in emphatic style.

With the Irymple greens running at a slick 15 seconds, the Suns hit the ground running on all three rinks to take an early lead in the preliminary final.

The break was timely for Irymple as Mildura had started to improve and develop some momentum.

After the break, not much separated the two sides and an upset was on the cards.

Mildura narrowed the margin, and late in the game took the lead.

The Mildura crowd grew in noise, helping the visitors to victory.

Irymple’s Phil Newton was up against Wayne Gardner, who was out to make amends for the loss from the week before.

Both sides traded blows with each side having a go at the lead.

It was not until the 20th end that the Mildura rink took control to finally run out winners by eight shots over the remaining five ends.

Brendon O’Brien drew Nev Hodgetts, and yet again another epic battle was endured by both sides.
