The SCA last week claimed the Division Three title at Melbourne Country Week, defeating Warragul in the final by 86 runs.

The win means the SCA will be promoted to Division Two – where Sunraysia has traditionally played – next year.

Vadlja, who made 154 runs at an average of 30.8 and took 12 wickets at 13.25 over the five games, said there was good camaraderie among the group for the week.

“It was fantastic, all the boys gelled really well together and enjoyed each other’s company,” Vadlja said.

“The interest in country week is starting to grow and it (the win) shows that Sunraysia cricket is quite strong.”

Vadlja said the group had a good blend of experienced players and emerging cricketers, such as Braidyn Turner, Aidan Calarco and Lachie Skinner.
